The bottom layer is an important part of the aquarium's interior, as many fish and invertebrates dig and seek food in the ground. At the same time, plants must be able to beat roots and absorb nourishment from scratch. Sansibar Dark is a fine, black natural base that gives the aquarium an elegant and quiet expression and is suitable for both freshwater and saltwater aquariums and terrariums.

The fine grain size prevents mold and waste from sinking deep into the bottom, which promotes a healthy and stable environment. The rounded granite sand is gentle against sensitive bottom fish and protects their delicate barts - ideal for species such as armored paint and pain.

The dark color reduces light reflections and makes both plants and fish appear in their full, natural colours. Especially shy species feel safer on dark ground.

Important:
Not suitable for use with bottoms, as very fine sand inhibits water circulation
Application
Rinse the bottom layer thoroughly under running water to remove dust and transport residues
Place the bottom layer on top of the nutrient substrate (e.g. JBL AquaBasis)
For optimal plant growth a layer of 6-8 cm is recommended
