I The lakes of the riftvalley in East Africa (Lake Malawi and Tanganyika) have many cichlids adapted to graze the algal coating on the rocks to eat the micro-organisms living in the (herbivorous grazing fish). JBL PRONOVO MALAWI has been developed for these species.

In contrast, almost all other species live in both lakes as predators and eat fish, micro-organisms, shrimps and fry. Some species even live exclusively on dandruff from other fish (Plecodus). JBL PRONOVO TANGANYIKA has been developed for these predators.

If both groups are kept together in one aquarium, it is important to offer both feed types so that each group gets the right nutrition.
