Food for aquarium plants Plants supply the aquarium with vital oxygen to its residents, prevent algae growth, remove pollutants, provide hiding places and reduce germ. The CO2 fertiliser system adds CO2 to the main nutrient via the water. The plants absorb CO2 and convert it into sugar and oxygen using light.

The difference between BioCO2 and CO2 pressure bottle systems: BioCO2 systems are based on the biological process of yeast fermentation where CO2 is formed. Two biocomponents react in a bottle / reaction container. After about 40 days, the system should only be refilled with water and the two biocomponents. In CO2 pressure cylinder systems, CO2 gas is stored at about 60 bar in steel cylinders. When empty, they can be refilled by a dealer (recyclable bottles, M-system) or replaced (disposable bottles, U-system). For plants, it is irrelevant where the CO2 comes from - they grow significantly better as soon as a CO2 system is installed. The choice is therefore about the preference of the aquarium: disposable bottles, refillable pressure bottles or a pressure-free biosystem.

In addition to CO2 fertiliser, the following are important for healthy and strong plant growth:

correct lighting (e.g. JBL LED SOLAR)
sufficient fertilisers with minerals and trace elements (JBL PROFLORA FERROPOL);

appropriate water temperature (typically 23-26 ° C),
