This extra pre-filter detects the majority of coarse dirt particles before the water reaches the outside filter. The base is stable on the bottom of the tank. The water is sucked in around the pre-filter and further through the filter curves, which can be filled with filter medium and easily cleaned or replaced.

For cleaning, simply remove the filter baskets.
